Members of the Digital Economy and Society (DES) research group presented their study on Big Data Value Chain in the 18th IFIP WG 6.11 Conference on e-Business, e-Services, and e-Society, I3E 2019, that was organized at Trondheim, Norway during September 18–20, 2019. Matti Mäntymäki, director of DES research group, hosted a panel discussion on their topic. In their study, they propose eight different stages in Big Data Value Chain, clustered into three main phases (sourcing, warehousing and analyzing), and discuss challenges related to these phases. Their study contributes to the literature discussing the value, utility and implications of Big Data.
